We Prepare You to Lead on AI
Our AI Academy is a yearlong program that takes schools/districts through an end-to-end AI implementation process, readying your system for the Age of AI.
Our program is designed to help schools/districts prepare for new White House Executive Orders by:
Developing and implementing AI-focused curricula in line with federal guidelines
Training educators to effectively integrate AI tools into their teaching methodologies
Establishing policies that align with the latest federal directives on AI education
Engaging in partnerships to enhance AI literacy and proficiency among students

Who is the AI Academy for?
The AI Academy is meant for teams and individuals who have been tasked to lead the AI efforts in their school or district. Whether alone or in groups, all participants will be part of a cohort that includes educators across North America who will be working through the program together, sharing insights, co-creating best practices, and learning from each other.

Your Guides
Ryan Findley
Ryan is a former educator who has held executive roles at the "World's Most Innovative" African Leadership University and he helped found Learn to Win, an innovative edtech firm serving high performance organizations' workforce development. Since 2019, he has been writing and speaking on AI and K-20 education, including at TEDx.
Laurel Aguilar-Kirchoff
Laurel has more than 20 years' experience in science, history, and civic education. She earned an MS in Education and champions digital literacy as a Google Certified Trainer. Laurel was awarded ISTE's "20 to Watch" in 2023, and currently leads in ISTE, CUE, and National History Day-California.
Dr. Julia Nyberg
Dr. Nyberg is a leading K-12, gifted, and curriculum development expert with professional experience in North America and Asia. She also serves as a Professor at Purdue University Global and a board member for the California Association for the Gifted and National Black Student Achievement Association
Dr. Derek Rouch
Derek is a paraeducator-turned-teacher-turned-CTO, and is passionate about technology's potential to impact learning. He proudly serves as Technology Director for Nuview Union School District in Southern California, and enjoys moonlighting as an adjunct Instructional Design professor.
Curriculum & Schedule
Evergreen’s AI Academy is a yearlong program that follows a Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) improvement science framework. Participants will work in a hybrid fashion that incorporates both theory and practice, with recommended activities during the “gap” between sessions.

Cohort Model
In addition to learning from Evergreen’s expert faculty team, participants in the AI Academy will have ample opportunities to learn from each other.
One of the most powerful elements of the AI Academy is the cohort model in which participants will participate.
Time Commitment
We only require 3 hours per month (9:00am – 12:00pm Pacific, 12:00pm – 3:00pm Eastern) but recommend that participants commit 12-15 hours per month to make meaningful progress on artifacts
A Typical Month
Pre-Work
Each month, participants will receive a curated packet of resources (research, case studies, examples) to review and prompts to consider internally (suggested: 1-3 hours)
Expert Session
Our expert faculty lead synchronous, 3-hour sessions each month, providing best practice guidance, support, and collaboration
"Gap" Work
Between sessions, participants will plow back expert guidance and lessons learned into tangible progress on their district plan (suggested: as needed by district goals)
Office Hours
Twice per month, participants can hop into a collaborative working session with Evergreen experts and other participants (optional)
